Choice of two journeys
To Carlisle from York, via the Settle to Carlisle line (steam from Hellifield):
Running Tuesdays on 7th July, 21st July, 11th August, 25th August and 15th September 2026. Departing from York, Castleford, Woodlesford (Leeds) Keighley and Skipton View Journey
To Carlisle from Chester. Outbound journey via the Settle to Carlisle line, (with steam from Hellifield). The return journey is via the West Coast Mainline, (with steam to Carnforth):
Running Thursdays on 11th June, 6th August and 10th September 2026. Departing from Chester, Frodsham, Warrington Bank Quay, Leyland and Preston. View Journey
WEST
The outbound journey from Chester will be diesel hauled through Frodsham to Warrington before turning north onto the West Coast Main Line through Preston and Blackburn to Hellifield. At Hellifield we change to steam traction for the journey to Carlisle via the Settle to Carlisle Line.

For the Return Journey, we travel back along the West Coast Mainline with steam traction to Carnforth. From Carnforth we will be hauled by a vintage diesel engine to your home stations.
EAST
The outbound journey from York will be diesel hauled via Church Fenton, Milford and Castleford to Wakefield. Then along the Aire Valley to Skipton and Hellifield. At Hellifield we change to steam traction for the journey via the Settle & Carlisle Line to Carlisle.

We re-trace our outwards route for the return journey with steam traction to Hellifield and diesel traction returning to York.
