Specialist Locomotive and coach Restoration

Operating from our Carnforth depot, we are one of only a very small number of UK companies able to offer an extensive restoration service.

Within our workshop facilities we can provide:

• Full or partial overhaul of locomotives – steam and diesel
• Full or partial overhaul of rolling stock
• Programmed maintenance of locomotives and rolling stock
• Restoration services
• Joinery and other craftsmen services
• Repaints and refits

Restoration service

Our engineering & restoration department employs a labour force skilled to a level now rare in this country, particularly in the field of steam locomotive restoration. Clients include private locomotive owners, preservation groups and many of the UKs best known preserved railways.

Parts Sales

From time to time, West Coast Railways has assets it no longer requires. These items include locomotives, wagons and nameplates. These items are made available for expressions of interest or bids.
