Operated by West Coast Railways on behalf of Muncaster Castle, this ghost train takes the scenic coastal route from Carlisle around the Cumbrian Coast, with spectacular coastal and mountain views, enough to just take your breath away.

Begin your journey from Oxenholme, Penrith, Carlisle, Workington, or Whitehaven with a return trip on the ghostly-themed train. The fun begins onboard with spine-tingling entertainment, setting the perfect spooky atmosphere. Upon arrival at Ravenglass, a transfer coach will whisk you to the enchanting gardens of Muncaster Castle, where you’ll be immersed in the Muncaster Halloween Family Festival!

This year, the festival is bigger and better than ever, featuring a thrilling Vampire theme. Highlights include the famous Halloween Maze, live performances, walk about acts, the Pumpkin Patch where each child receives a free pumpkin, and spooky activities like the Vampire Vanquisher Trail, The Weapons Hall, and a Costume Competition. Explore the haunted Castle, rumoured to be one of the most haunted houses in the UK, and join the Monster Parade.

Whether you’re brave enough for a maze adventure or here for family-friendly fun, the Muncaster Halloween Family Festival has something for everyone.
