The town’s impressive Abbey Church is regarded by many to be the 'cathedral of Dorset'. Its most beautiful feature is the stone, fan vaulted ceiling and it’s such a glorious sight to behold, you’ll gasp in wonderment. 

If you’re visiting Sherborne, a trip to the town’s two castles is a must! 

Wander around magnificent state rooms and Lancelet 'Capability' Brown landscaped gardens at Sherborne Castle and Gardens, the historic Digby stately home built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594. Sherborne Old Castle, by contrast, is an impressive ruin of a 12th century castle that withstood two sieges during the Civil War. Now managed by English Heritage, the grounds are a fantastic place to explore and enjoy a picnic.

Grownups will love the amazing cars and bikes at Haynes International Motor Museum, from nostalgic classics of the 50s and 60s, glorious Bentleys and Rolls Royce's to exciting super cars like the Jaguar XJ220. And for the kids, there’s the Vroom Room, an interactive garage and mini road system, a construction zone with Super Diggers and so much more to get their little hands on! 

At the nearby Fleet Air Arm Museum, you can go on board the first British Concorde and visit the award winning Aircraft Carrier Experience where you’ll 'fly' by helicopter to the replica flight deck of the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal!
