Chester Christmas Pullman

Departing: Skegness, Wainfleet, Boston, Heckington, Sleaford

Please Note: This trip is hauled by vintage diesel aboard our beautifully restored land cruise train 'Spirit of the Lakes'

Departing Skegness around 0615 we make our way through Boston and Sleaford across the breadth of the country to the historic city of Chester, which lies close to the Welsh border. An important city in Roman times, Chesters' almost complete circuit of walls offer a fascinating walk of almost three miles around the historic centre. More recent attractions includes The Rows, a dual level shopping centre with its attractive arcades and Tudor style half timbered buildings, which sets Chester apart from most English cities.

At Christmas time the centre of Chester plays host to around seventy traditional wooden chalets which stand wrapped around an iconic sparkling Christmas tree, usually located in Chesters' beautiful Town Hall Square opposite the magnificent cathedral.

After our break in Chester and having purchased those special Christmas gifts, we make our way back to Skegness arriving around 2200.
