Muncaster Express Ghost Train 29th October

Due to the closure of the Whitehaven tunnel (Bransty tunnel, between Whitehaven and Corkickle) and the latest forecast for completion being Spring 2026, we have had to reroute this trip. The changes will still mean that passengers will have stunning views over the Cumbrian mountains along with the spectacular Cumbrian Coast.

All affected passengers will be contacted with further details.

Due to the reroute we have been able to add extra stations for this train trip. This ghost train now takes the Southern route from Carlisle down the West Coast Line past Penrith, Shap, Oxenholme to Carnforth, where we turn and head towards the spectacular southern scenic route around the Cumbrian Coast to Ravenglass.
