CoronaVirus (COVID-19): The situation regarding the ‘virus’ is changing daily, regular updates will appear here.
Your welfare is our only priority, protecting the NHS, Our trips will only run when it’s safe for our passengers, colleagues, local residents and with the backing of the UK Government.
Following the Government announcement yesterday advising the current UK lockdown will continue for ‘at least’ three weeks that takes us to Thursday 18th June, there will then be a further announcement. Therefore, we are delaying the start of our trips including the famous Jacobite train (carrying passengers from Fort William to Mallaig ) until provisionally Wednesday 1st July (please see the trip pages to view the relevant provisional start dates for that trip).
We are now taking bookings from that date, we apologise to passengers booked to travel before the 1st July, and we will be in contact with you to discuss your booking options.
I am sure you will appreciate it is impossible to guarantee passenger travel, this is a moving target and very difficult to predict, if for whatever reason the lockdown is still in place on Wednesday 1st July, we will not run, and will advise you at the earliest opportunity. That being the case all bookings will be transferred to a VIP gift voucher to the value of your booking plus an additional 10% for you to use towards your next trip with us. Alternatively, we will issue a full refund or change your booking to a later date.
Once again we apologise for this delay. Our thoughts are with the people suffering from this dreadful virus and grateful to the people of our magnificent health service.
