Festive Special to Canterbury

Our vintage diesel hauled festive special to Canterbury is sure to be one of the highlights of our 2017 season. Not just for the fascinating destination but also for the route which takes us on a high level line around London with views across the Eurostar Terminal, Camden, Gospel Oak and, of course, the River Thames. One would also struggle to find a more evocative destination to visit during the festive period that the spiritual home of the Church of England and one time capital of the nation.
Our journey is routed from the heart of Lincolnshire south bound for London before crossing the River Thames. Our arrival into Canterbury, a city immortalised by Geoffrey Chaucer and Thomas Becket, is expected to be at approximately 12:30 allowing a break of around three or four hours to enjoy a stroll around the medieval centre, perhaps taking in a warming mulled wine and a visit to the Festive shops and market.
We plan to depart Lincoln around 06:00 picking up at the stations detailed above. After a break of around four hours we make our return journey expecting to arrive back into Lincoln around 22:15.
Pullman Dining passengers will be served a full English breakfast with complimentary Buck's Fizz plus elevenses or light lunch (depending on finalised timings), on the outward journey. A delicious four course, Christmas themed, evening dinner preceded by canapés and Champagne will be served on the return journey.
Pullman First Class passengers will be served pastries on the outward leg and a savoury of the day followed by cake will be served on the return journey. To accompany this there will be a complimentary service of tea and coffee.
Standard and First Class passengers will have access to a buffet for the purchase of tea, coffee and light refreshments. You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or indeed a tasty picnic to enjoy as the countryside passes by!
First Class and Pullman Dining passengers can book a private table for a supplement of £20.00 per person.
