Skegness to Liverpool
Departs – Saturday 23 September 2017
From Skegness, Wainfleet, Boston, Heckington, Sleaford and Ancaster.
Liverpool, home of the Beatles, has flourished since attaining UK City of Culture status and is now one of the top 'big city' tourist destinations in the country. Travelling there aboard our beautiful Pullman train means the journey is as much a part of the day as the destination with large comfortable seats and picture windows to enjoy the views as we cross the spine of England.
Once in Liverpool you may wish to visit the famous Cavern Club on Matthew Street or trace the history of the 'fab four' at the Beatles Story Exhibition. Alternatively browse around Albert Dock which has developed into a visitor attraction in its own right with boutique shops and numerous eateries. Stroll along the waterfront, catch a glimpse of the Liver Birds atop their building, maybe even take a trip on the famous ferry across the Mersey or perhaps visit one of the museums depicting Liverpool's maritime history.
Whatever your interests Liverpool's bustling city centre has plenty to catch the imagination for an entertaining afternoon's visit and plenty of shops for those early Christmas gifts.
Pullman Dining passengers will be served a full English breakfast with complimentary Buck's Fizz plus elevenses or light lunch (depending on finalised timings), on the outward journey. A delicious four course evening dinner preceded by canapés and accompanied with a half bottle of wine per person will be served on the return journey.
Pullman First Class passengers will be served pastries on the outward leg and a savoury of the day followed by cake will be served on the return journey. To accompany this there will be a complimentary service of tea and coffee.
Standard and First Class passengers will have access to a buffet for the purchase of tea, coffee and light refreshments. You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or indeed a tasty picnic to enjoy as the countryside passes by!
