Kidderminster to Torquay and Paignton
Departs – Thursday 26 July 2018
From Kidderminster, Droitwich, Worcester and Cheltenham.
A great chance to get away from the city and join us for a lovely day out to the English Riviera and to enjoy a traditional day at the seaside in one of England's premier resorts.
Our lovingly restored heritage diesel will whisk us to the coast and offer a choice of destinations. Our journey takes us through Taunton to Exeter where we can marvel at the cathedral as it dominates the city. Continuing towards Newton Abbot we are entertained by the stunning views of the Dawlish Coast as our train plunges through tunnels and runs along the sea wall offering close up views of the stumps and arches which typify this coast.
Should you decide to spend your day in bustling Torquay with it beautiful seafront, sweeping views and fabulous beaches you will find plenty to keep you occupied. Take your pick from a bracing walk, a tour of the shops or the traditional entertainment of the English seaside. Stay aboard to Paignton and you may catch a glimpse of a steam train on the Dartmouth Steam Railway. If the timings allow there may even be a chance for a ride. Paignton is also a pretty seaside resort with plenty of opportunities to while away a Summer day.
Rejoining our train gives another opportunity to enjoy the dramatic views from the train window as we return along the coast before heading inland towards Exeter and home stations.
