From our more southern pick-up points we make our way north to a choice of three fantastic destinations.
DURHAM: Durham is home to one of the most recognisable landmarks in the UK, majestic Durham Cathedral. Together with adjacent Durham Castle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site forms one of the most stunning panoramas in Europe.
NEWCASTLE: With 2000 years of history, there is so much to see and do in Newcastle from grand Georgian architecture to the iconic quayside which is home to seven stunning bridges charting the journey through engineering history.
BERWICK: Berwick-upon-Tweed sits at the most northerly tip of Northumberland, just 3 miles from the Scottish Border. A coastal town with four sandy beaches and beautiful riverside walks this peaceful town is a far cry from Berwick's turbulent past. Berwick's great Elizabethan walls were built to keep invading Scots from entering the town if you walk the circuit you will get spectacular views across the River Tweed estuary and Berwick's three bridges, including the iconic Royal Border Bridge, built by Robert Stevenson.
PREMIER DINING CLASS: Includes an at seat silver service of full English Breakfast in the morning, a selection of pastries with coffee mid journey and a four course meal on the return journey all freshly prepared by our skilled chefs on board the train.
FIRST CLASS: Outward Journey: Freshly brewed coffee and fine teas served with warm Danish pastries. Return Journey: Warm vegetable & cheese tartlet together with chunky coleslaw salad, Freshly brewed coffee and fine teas served with Trio of cakes and fancies.
CHILDREN UNDER 5 can be brought on the train free of charge only if not taking up a seat and sharing seats with accompanying adults.
REFRESHMENTS: A buffet counter service of snacks, hot and cold drinks, and alcoholic beverages is available to all our Standard and First Class passengers throughout the day. You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or indeed a tasty picnic to enjoy as the countryside passes by!
First Class and Premier Dining passengers can book a private table for a supplement of £20.00 per person.
